January Event Recap
RCS CBA's January business mixer, ‘Marketing Matters,’ had great ROI for attendees! Held in member RCS Community Library’s Community Room, the presentation portion of the evening featured digital marketing expert and RCS CBA board member Jordon Egelston of Uniquely Jordon Boutique and Warren Dews from Capital Region Independent Media, the publisher of the Ravena News Herald and other local newspapers.
Mr. Dews' presentation included topics such as Top-of-Mind-Awareness and Building Relationships. He offered many examples of tools businesses can leverage to achieve greater exposure for their brands. Mr. Dews offers a Networking 101 program to help business owners learn about this most
crucial marketing skill.
Social Media Marketing was the topic discussed during Ms. Egelston's presentation. In it, she outlined each of the most popular social platforms and described how to best utilize their unique features to engage a customer base. She also stressed the importance of tracking the metrics of social media posts (e.g., How many views? What time of day?) and offered a list of Dos and Don'ts for social posts.
Attendees were offered samples from member businesses:
Crumby Cookies by Betsy provided apple cinnamon granola that we could not stop eating!
Sweet T's Cookies brought custom-designed cookies with their logo and some with the RCS CBA logo as well!
Rosemary McHugh, co-owner of New Scotland Spirits, guided us through a tasting of some of their products, which included instruction on how to properly savor the taste of distilled liquors.
Existing and new members alike offered information about their respective businesses and shared ideas about marketing strategies they want to try, or that work for them. Attendees commented that the evening had a collaborative atmosphere and was exceptionally informative.
Thank you to all who participated and attended!
